ALICE MUON MEETING 2016

Du 23 au 27 mai 2016

Pornichet

The 2016 Workshop of the ALICE Muon Spectrometer will take place at Pornichet (Hotel Escale Océanie), France from May 23rd - 27th 2016. We foresee to start the sessions on Monday at 3:00 pm and to finish on Friday at 2:00 pm.

This annual meeting brings together the international scientific community involved in the Muon Spectrometer of ALICE at CERN.

The 2016 meeting will provide an excellent opportunity to review and discuss the status and the strategy of the muon spectrometer for the Run2 at the LHC, as well as the ongoing muon analysis of Run1 at the LHC and the first results of the first Pb-Pb run at 5 TeV. In addition, the muon spectrometer community has launched an ambitious upgrade programme for the Run3 at the LHC, which includes a new design of the front end and readout electronics of the muon tracking and muon identification (muon-id) systems, and a new silicon pixel tracker (mft). The upgraded apparatus will collect heavy ion data at unprecedented rates and a new on-line and off-line computing framework will be needed. The current status of the upgrade projects will be reviewed during the workshop.
