Post-Doctoral position: Henrys laws coefficients in hydrated porous solids

Context:

Subatech is a mixed research unit in the areas of radiochemistry and nuclear physics in Nantes/France, operated by the IMT Atlantique, the University of Nantes and the CNRS/IN2P3.

In the context of its research program on the safety of nuclear waste disposal, the laboratory is going to conduct an experimental project allowing to determine Henrys laws coefficients for various gases (methane,…) as function of relative humidity and temperature (20-60°C) in contact to partially hydrated porous solids (clay rock, concrete).

Missions:

The Post-Doc shall develop an experimental protocol, identify the analytical procedures with their required precision, conduct the experiments in due time, interpret the results, formulate an intermediate report and a final scientific paper and exchange frequently with our industrial partners.

Profil:

Successful candidates have a good base in physical chemistry, experience in relevant experimental and instrumental/analytical approaches and have good understanding of the thermodynamics at solid/water/gas interfaces. Interested candidates add a suggestion for an experimental/analytical approach in their application.

A PhD in geochemistry, radiochemistry or physical-chemistry is a prerequisite.

Date/Duration:

Start as soon as possible. Duration: 12 month. Administrative procedures will take at least 2 month.

Salary: 2585€ /month (brut) with possibility to increase according to experiments

Type of Contract: Post-Doctoral Contract IMT Atlantic (public law contract)
