The TAPS collaboration

What is it ?

* The collaboration has been created in 1987 to build and run a photon and neutral mesons multidetector : TAPS (Two Arms Photon Spectrometer).
* The TAPS collaboration comprises nuclear physics research groups from Czech Republic (NPI, Rez), France (GANIL, Caen), Germany (GSI Darmstadt, Universities of Giessen and Mayence), Netherlands (KVI Groningen) and Spain (IFIC Université de Valence-CSIC).
* Besides these main users, many other physicists of other instituts (Universities of Francfort, Bonn, Varsovie, laboratoires de Bordeaux, Nantes, Bratislava, Swierk, Cracovie et Oak Ridge National Laboratory) have performed some TAPS experiments.

What is being done ?

* The TAPS detector is steadily setup for heavy ion experiments at GSI (100 MeV/u < E/A < 1 GeV/u) in Darmstadt, at GANIL (10 MeV/u < E/A < 100 MeV/u) in Caen, and at the present time at KVI in Groningen. It is also used at MAMI in Mainz for photoabsorption experiments. TAPS has also performed a campaign at CERN SPS in coincidence with the electron spectrometer CERES.
* Since its creation, the collaboration has published 68 articles in various scientific journals.

Who are its members ?

A list of the collaborators is available. ---
