    Back to Pint of Science!

On Monday, May 19, 2025, Subatech took part in the Pint of Science evening entitled “In the world of atoms,” held at the Atomic's Café in Nantes. The event, which aimed to make science accessible in a friendly setting, brought together a curious and enthusiastic audience to discuss fascinating scientific topics.

Two presentations punctuated the evening: Fanny Courtin and Nicolas Thiollière gave a lecture entitled “Nuclear energy in France – History, technical and economic prospects,” offering clear and educational insights into the complex issues surrounding civil nuclear power. They were followed by François Arleo, who transported the audience with “A soup called quark-gluon plasma,” immersing them in a state of matter that is as fascinating as it is little known.

This warm exchange between science and society was an opportunity to showcase the research work carried out at the laboratory, while answering questions from the general public in a relaxed atmosphere. Thank you to the speakers and organizers (Farah Alibay and Victor Lebrin, former doctoral student) for this wonderful scientific evening!
