CERN Masterclass 2026
The CERN Masterclass is an international initiative aimed at raising young people’s awareness of science, and more specifically particle physics. Over the course of a day, students have the opportunity to work with real data from CERN experiments, such as those conducted at the LHC (Large Hadron Collider). This event was made possible thanks to the commitment of two Subatech researchers, Guillaume Batigne and François Arleo, who supervised and led the day’s activities, which included:
- Their presentations on the challenges of particle physics
- Hands-on exercises where the high school students analyzed data, just as professional physicists would.
- A simultaneous videoconference with other groups of high school students around the world (Italy, Bulgaria, and South Africa), as well as with researchers from CERN. This session allowed the students to share their results, ask questions, and enjoy a unique collaborative experience.
An enriching experience

This immersion in the world of scientific research gave high school students the opportunity to better understand the challenges of modern physics while discovering careers in research. Subatech is proud to contribute to this initiative and warmly thanks the teachers and students for their enthusiastic participation.
