    Fête de la science

The "Fête de la science" is a French science outreach event that promotes science to the general public. Created in 1992, the Fête is organised each year by the Ministry of Higher Education and Research. It was first called Science en fête until 1997, then Science Week from 1998 to 1999, and then Fête de la science from 2000 onwards. Sharing science and understanding the issues at stake in an ever-changing world is what this festive event is all about. It is also an opportunity to arouse curiosity and interest, to understand and learn. On this occasion, thousands of scientists share their enthusiasm for science and technology with visitors through a variety of activities. The various departments and research laboratories open their doors to the public.

    2025

On the weekend of October 11 and 12, 2025, Subatech once again participated in the Science Festival in Hall 6 West in Nantes.
More than 2,600 visitors, young and old, came to talk to our researchers, engineers, and doctoral students about our activities on radioactivity, the cloud chamber, and the spherical detector, accompanied by the 3D map of nuclei.

A wonderful event marked by curiosity and scientific sharing!

A big thank you to everyone who worked hard to give the public a behind-the-scenes look at some of our research. See you next year for another exciting edition!

    2024

The 33rd Science Festival (Fête de la Science) took place on October 5 and 6 at the Planétarium de Nantes.

This event brings scientists together with the general public. Its aim? To increase understanding and awareness of the world around us, by discovering science and its challenges from a different angle, through fun experiments.

Once again, Subatech's scientists and technicians were able to share their passion for science with curious visitors of all ages, introducing a new feature: the spherical detector, which joins the fog chamber, the lego nuclei map and radioactivity. This year's event was a resounding success, with over 1,300 participants over the weekend.
